Cupcakes & Carousels Are SO FUN!

So last week, I was working on designing projects for my April classes and... I kinda got carried away. You know, when you start making something that's not really practical for mass-producing but is just SO. DARN. CUTE. that you can't stop? yeah. That.

This is the kind of project you make for someone you really, REALLY like. Most of it is super easy - it's just the cutting out and stamping all the little cupcake pieces. It makes is so adorable but takes a little time. But how much do you love it?!? I sure do!!

I like adding the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Paper matted with cardstock on the sides - it gives the box added stability. And I checked - this box just fits (diagonally) a gift card. So it would be a super cute way to give a gift card to someone you love :) Which is what I'll be doing with it!

More Pillow Gifts!

OK, back to the pillow gifts that I was talking about the other day. Here's another one:

This set is just too much fun. It was the first time I'd broken into it, and I just cannot wait until I get to play with it again!!! It's the Cupcakes & Carousels suite on page 8-9 of the Occasions Catalog. SOoooo stinkin' sweet it will make your teeth hurt, but you'll still come back for more! And a little tip: those adorable cupcakes on the ferris wheel can be cut out perfectly using the Up & Away thinlits. yesssss!! But who are we kidding... that carousel horse is what I'm super excited about!!

Do You Like To Swap?

Conferences are a GREAT place to swap. This is another Stampin' Up! tradition - when demonstrators get together, we share ideas. At the Canadian Business Conference this weekend, the organizers put together set sampler swaps - so we signed up for a particular stamp set and designed a card featuring that stamp set and made 11 of them. Then, they will take the samples and make a sampler for us of all the different cards!

Here's mine using the Lift Me Up stamp set:

This is probably one of my favorite cards I've designed from the new catalog. I can't even tell you how much I love these balloons. It's a lot. This bundle is just so easy to use!! And I love that when you buy it, you can earn the coordinating Sale-a-Bration paper pack, Carried Away, for free.

Pillow Gifts are the BEST!

I'm in Toronto this weekend for the Stampin' Up! Canadian Business Conference, and I am looking forward to giving some gifts I've gotten ready to a friend of mine! :) It's a tradition at Stampin' Up! events to give "pillow" gifts to your roommate - to sneak little handstamped trinkets onto their beds at some point during the day. Here's tonight's gift:

 

Yup, it's that cute little Window Shopping set again! I posted another box I made with it yesterday, and if you didn't see that post you should check it out :) This time, I wanted to use the floral motif cutout for the front of the box. Isn't it just absolutely gorgeous?! So pretty and easy. I put both of these boxes together in less than 15 minutes, designing to done. (I love quick projects!)

My tip for assembling these boxes? Tear and Tape adhesive. SO quick and easy!!

A Valentine Box

I had the pleasure of leading a workshop for a friend of mine this weekend. It was so fun to stamp with her and her friends, and get to give away a couple of things too! This was the hostess gift I made for her - a little valentine hexagon box with some chocolates inside. The great thing about this box (made with the Window Box Thinlits) is that the space is big enough that there are TONS of options for what to do with that front hex space. In this one, I took a heart framelit from the Sweet & Sassy set and cut the heart opening and then filled it with the Glassine Sheets! Sweet & Simple!

December Paper Pumpkin Hack!

hey there! I had so much fun with my Paper Pumpkin party last Thursday! I went live on facebook and had fun creating one of the cards PLUS my fun little PP Hack :) Here's the video.

 These were SO easy to make and SO fun. They're so adorable. Plus, I love that they showed up on my doorstep and all I had to do was open the box and get started. No prep work. The pieces were diecut; I just had to punch them out! You can sign up for Paper Pumpkin here and get your own little box of fun delivered each month!

So I mentioned a hack. I saw the vellum and thought - wouldn't that make a super cute little luminary? SO I made one! I cut the cards into strips and attached the trees and houses to one side and the vellum to the other, and then tied the twine around the top. It's on the video. SO simple and so cute! I hope you like it!

Ornament Time!

Some of you may be taking the day off today... but here in Canada, it's business as usual! I have a Stitched with Cheer stamp-a-stack this morning and a Beautiful Bags class tonight. Busy day!!

But I wanted to show you something cute and simple and quick - this would be a perfect project to do along with your kids or grandkids!

These cute little clear plastic ornaments are fairly easy to find, and you can fill them with just about anything! Here, I chose to fill one with our White Pompom Trim and tie a bow with the Real Red 3/4" Stitched Edge Ribbon. and DONE!
The second ornament is filled with our Gold Sequin Trim and adorned with a Gold Satin Ribbon bow and a little star made from 3 gold glimmer stars made with our Medium Star Punch. I used Fast Fuse on half of one star and attached a second. I then put Fast Fuse on the other half of the first star and attached a third star, and then attached the two free edges together. I punched a hole with the 1/8" Handheld Circle Punch and then tied it on with the gold twine from the Baker's Twine Trio Pack.

Wouldn't your holiday decorating be adorable with these?!
