Do You Like To Swap?

Conferences are a GREAT place to swap. This is another Stampin' Up! tradition - when demonstrators get together, we share ideas. At the Canadian Business Conference this weekend, the organizers put together set sampler swaps - so we signed up for a particular stamp set and designed a card featuring that stamp set and made 11 of them. Then, they will take the samples and make a sampler for us of all the different cards!

This is probably one of my favorite cards I've designed from the new catalog. I can't even tell you how much I love these balloons. It's a lot. This bundle is just so easy to use!! And I love that when you buy it, you can earn the coordinating Sale-a-Bration paper pack, Carried Away, for free.

Pillow Gifts are the BEST!

I'm in Toronto this weekend for the Stampin' Up! Canadian Business Conference, and I am looking forward to giving some gifts I've gotten ready to a friend of mine! :) It's a tradition at Stampin' Up! events to give "pillow" gifts to your roommate - to sneak little handstamped trinkets onto their beds at some point during the day. Here's tonight's gift:

 

Yup, it's that cute little Window Shopping set again! I posted another box I made with it yesterday, and if you didn't see that post you should check it out :) This time, I wanted to use the floral motif cutout for the front of the box. Isn't it just absolutely gorgeous?! So pretty and easy. I put both of these boxes together in less than 15 minutes, designing to done. (I love quick projects!)

My tip for assembling these boxes? Tear and Tape adhesive. SO quick and easy!!

A Valentine Box

I had the pleasure of leading a workshop for a friend of mine this weekend. It was so fun to stamp with her and her friends, and get to give away a couple of things too! This was the hostess gift I made for her - a little valentine hexagon box with some chocolates inside. The great thing about this box (made with the Window Box Thinlits) is that the space is big enough that there are TONS of options for what to do with that front hex space. In this one, I took a heart framelit from the Sweet & Sassy set and cut the heart opening and then filled it with the Glassine Sheets! Sweet & Simple!

Mexican Sunrise is where I want to spend MY birthday!!

It's winter in BC. I miss Mexico.

It's not my birthday, but if it was, a trip to Mexico is what I'd want. I absolutely ADORE this sunrise background. I did it using our Stampin' Sponges and Classic Stampin' Ink Pads in Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Melon Mambo. What do you think?

Snow, Snow, Go Away!!

It's a dreary, grey, rainy day today here in Chilliwack. And I am THRILLED! It means that the snow is FINALLY melting and maybe the knots in my neck will go away. Don't get me wrong - I love snow! I just prefer to be inside, sitting beside a roaring fire, watching it swirl around in the air gracefully!

So, in honor of the beautiful, warm rain... this card.

I love how we can use the markers to color different parts of one stamp and get a great, multicolored image. Right now is a great time to make big purchases like the Many Marvelous Markers. In fact, add in both In Color Marker sets and you've earned yourself a whopping THREE free Sale-a-bration items!! Nice!

Isn't this set just so darn cute?! It was my number one must-have item from the new Occasions catalog. It is SO easy to make adorable cards with. It just begs them out of you. You barely even have to be creative. And the best part is... during Sale-a-bration, purchasing the wood stamp set and framelit bundle is qualifies you to get the coordinating Carried Away Designer Series Paper for FREE! You might look at the stamp set and think, huh. That sentiment doesn't look the same in this card. And you'd be right. Every once in a while, I like to switch things up by taking the scissors to the sentiments and arranging them the way the card wants. It was going to be too bulky for this card the way the sentiment is arranged on the stamp, so I improvised! You aren't a slave to the stamp. I've even heard of people *gasp* cutting up their STAMPS so that they're more flexible. I haven't gone that far lately. I have done it though :)
